Mediation

Before going through the expensive litigation process, parties can often resolve disputes with the assistance of a skilled mediator.  At mediation, parties can set aside the tradition adversarial approach fostered by our legal system in favor of a creative business driven dispute resolution approach.

Moreover, commercial contracts frequently require parties to mediate.  For instance, the standard Law and Arbitration Clause of the Baltic and International Maritime Conference (BIMCO) includes a mediation provision.  HMAA facilitates mediation by gathering a pool of experienced mediators.
