HMAA wants this site to work for everyone who needs it, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology.

What we have built in

Text and background colors are chosen to stay readable.
Headings run in order, so the page can be navigated by heading.
Links describe where they go rather than saying "click here."
Images carry alternative text, and decorative images are marked as decorative.
Animation respects the reduced-motion setting in your operating system.

Where we know there are gaps

Downloadable documents. The Rules for Arbitration and our other documents can be downloaded from this site as PDFs. Those PDFs may not be tagged for screen readers. If you need one in an accessible format, ask us, and we will send it.
The member roster. The roster lists current members with their background and contact details, and marks those who have completed HMAA arbitrator training. It is the part of this site people most often need, so if you cannot read or navigate it with your assistive technology, contact us, and we will send you the member information you need in another format.
Embedded content. Maps, forms, and event tools from other providers may not be fully accessible, as we do not control how they are built.

If you need something in another format

If any part of this site does not work for you, or you need information from it in large print, plain text, or an accessible document, contact us, and we will provide it. There is no charge.

We want to know about barriers you run into. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what went wrong.

Review

We review this page when the site changes significantly, and at least once a year.

As of the the published date stated above, all pages have been checked and found to be in substantial conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
